Kiourtsis, Emily II year Undergrad Student - Treasurer "As a college graduate and a previous Active Minds member at
Ohio Wesleyan University, I realize how important a student-run organization is
to start the conversation on mental health within the college population. As a graduate student, I was excited to learn a new
chapter of Active Minds would be forming at Wright State University. My involvement in Active Minds will allow me
to continue pursuing my interest in mental health advocacy. I am motivated to
create an environment on campus where people feel safe to have conversations
about various topics related to mental health.Although stigma is a barrier for many individuals to open up about
personal challenges related to mental health, being a member of the WSU Active
Minds board allows me the opportunity to reach out to those students who may be
suffering in silence."

I also believe this organization will be a successful and a huge contribution to our college campus, so I joined because I want to be part of something great!"
